The World Means You to Me

What I do and what I say are mostly the same thing

And I say stupid things all the time

Will a colloquy of platitudes be familiar?

Verbose articulation is a fool's game

We know what should be said

The thought's been swimming in my head

But I can't find the words to explain

As far as old sayings go, well some are based in truth

I've refrained from old cliches to convey your tribute

I think I'll use one now and reverse priorities

The world means you to me

The world means you to me

What I think and what I feel are often in combat

But I know think I feel a sense of ease

Did I come across the way I had intended?

I get flummoxed in the effort to convey

I'll ruminate on what I said

Perhaps it's better to be read

I've written down the words to explain

As far as old sayings go, well some are based in truth

I've refrained from old cliches to convey your tribute

I think I'll use one now and reverse priorities

The world means you to me

The world means you to me
